DRY ACT # 1 is de eerste productie van het gezelschap Human Works, opgericht door Anne Linn-Akselsen en Adrián Minckowicz. De Argentijn Minckowicz is acteur en auteur, de Noorse Akselsen studeerde aan P.A.R.T.S. en werkte onder andere met Rosas, Salva Sanchis, Heine Avdal en Jean Luc Ducourt. Samen maken ze een performance over de dreigende problematiek rond zuiver water.

Op een dag begon tijdens de afwas een discussie: wiens verantwoordelijkheid is het eigenlijk om de watervoorraden te redden? En wie heeft er schuld aan de huidige situatie? In fysieke en verbale confrontaties kampen Akselsen en Minckowicz samen met danseres Loan Ha met machtsverhoudingen en dilemma’s. Met een fikse dosis zwarte humor, soms op het absurde af, creëren ze een spel met werkelijkheid en fictie, op zoek naar hun eigen stukje in de grote puzzel van geopolitiek en consumptiemaatschappij.

One day, while washing the dishes, and with the tap running an endless amount of water, a discussion started. Whose responsibility is it anyway to save the planets water resources? And who is to blame for the fact that things have gone very, very wrong?

In this first performance of their new company, Human Works, the Norwegian choreographer and dancer Anne-Linn Akselsen comes together with the Argentinean playwright, director, lawyer, Adrián Minkowicz, to create a performance that tries to deal with just one of the numerous potential catastrophes that surrounds us in our everyday life.

Through physical and verbal dialogues they struggle with relations of power, questioning how we react when faced with difficult dilemmas. With pitch-black humour, sometimes on the verge of absurdity, they play with elements of both reality and fiction, searching for their own part in the large puzzle of global politics and consumption.
