De Argentijnse choreografe Cecilia Lisa Eliceche gaat aan de slag met één van de meest gekende begrippen in de choreografie, de unisono of het gelijktijdig uitvoeren van dezelfde beweging. Ze gebruikt de tool om op een speelse manier de samenleving te herbekijken. De choreografe denkt na over nieuwe manieren van samenzijn en geeft de feministische ideeën van Donna Haraway en Judith Butler een plaats in de dans. Met UNISON omarmt ze de principes heterogeniteit, verschil en onenigheid.

Cecilia Lisa Eliceche studeerde hedendaagse dans in Madrid, Brussel (P.A.R.T.S.) en New York. In België werkte ze al regelmatig samen met Eleanor Bauer, Claire Croizé en Etienne Guilloteau. Zelf creëerde ze het gesmaakte Cow’s Theory, vorig jaar te zien in Monty. Hiermee won ze de befaamde Prix Jardin d’Europe. Ze maakt politiek geladen stukken, maar tracht steeds ruimte te laten voor vrije interpretatie.

The argentine choreographer Cecilia Lisa Eliceche works with one of the best-known concepts in choreography, unisono, or the simultaneous execution of the same movement. She uses this classic choreographic tool to think out a community. The young choreographer reflects on new ways of being together in a society and tries to incroporate relevant ideas from feminist texts by Donna Haraway and Judith Buttler into her dance. She embraces principles such as heterogeneity, difference and disagreement.

Cecilia Lisa Eliceche studied contemporary dance in Madrid, Brussels (P.A.R.T.S.), and New York. She often works with Eleanor Bauer, Claire Croizé and Etienne Guilloteau. She won the Prix Jardin d’Europe with her creation Cow’s Theory (2012). Very conciously, she chooses a political meaning in her work, but trying to allow space for free interpretation at the same time.
