In tijden van over-stimulatie van de zinnen koesteren Dianne Weller, een Australische theatermaakster, en de Duitse Julie Pfleiderer de verbeelding. Geïnspireerd door de orale traditie van hoorspelen zoemen ze in op louter het gehoor, for your ears only, en brengen een onzichtbaar theaterstuk op een lege scène.

For Your Ears Only vermengt de twee werelden van theater en radio. Zo ontstaat iets als de uitbeelding van een radio-uitzending of het gloednieuwe theatergenre: radiophonic theatre.

Hoofdingrediënt is een radioprogramma waarbij de kritische commentaren bij nieuwe en exclusieve werk Our House van Superamas worden uitgezonden. Theatercritici als Andrew Haydon (the Guardian), Pieter T’Jonck  (De Morgen, Etcetera… ) en Elke Van Campenhout (a.pass artistic research centre) zijn van partij en samen met de associaties die geluid en muziek oproepen, krijgen personages en verhaallijnen vorm.

Deze originele en veelgelaagde geluidsshow is een streling voor het oor, en een feest voor de verbeelding.

In times of visual over stimulation, this performance aims to indulge your imagination. Dianne Weller an australian belgian based theatre maker & performer, has decided to invent a new form of theatre, For Your Ears Only, based on the Oral tradition.

Showcasing an invisible play on an empty stage and, in doing so, resurrecting the radio play in a performative way. Radio Drama or the ‘hear play’ is synonymous for action, comedy, fantasy and of course drama. Mixing the two worlds of theatre and radio to create a new form, radiophonic theatre.

Similar to a radio show, the Superamas has a reputation for playing on these elements and we discovered a new exclusive work of theirs tentitled Our House.

Inspired by radio and the Oral Tradition of storytelling, we created For Your Ears Only with Critique told by Andrew Haydon, the Guardian (UK), Pieter T’Jonck (BE), De Morgen, Etcetera amongst others; and Elke Van Campenhout (BE), a.pass artistic research centre.
